Inborne Technology Corporation has completed development of completely new credit card processing technology for Point of Success that will help you meet the requirements of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (this is the meaning of “PCI Compliant”). To be compliant you will be required to use processing software that has been PA-DSS Validated. This is a third-party review of software to verify that it meets the security requirements.

Validation of Point of Success is proceeding on schedule, but the final release of the software has been delayed to allow Mercury Payment Systems to put new servers into production that eliminate the need for your system to store card data. This delayed release affects both merchants using Mercury Payment Systems and those processing with PCCharge Payment Server. We expect Point of Success version 2.7 to be ready for release in August, but this date can slip if we experience additional delays from external sources.

We will notify you when version 2.7 is ready for download and installation. After installation of the update there will be additional steps for you to complete that are unrelated to the software update to achieve PCI compliance. We'll have all the details for you when version 2.7 is released.

What about the July 1 deadline? It is our understanding that credit card processors are not going to immediately penalize you for not being PCI compliant. If you have questions you should contact your credit card processor right away.

If you are using Mercury Payment Systems you do not need to do anything yet. The biggest benefit to you in version 2.7 is that credit card information will no longer be stored.

If you are using PCCharge Payment Server you need know that meeting the PCI-DSS requirements for a secure system is going to be more difficult because credit card data is stored by PCCharge. If you continue to process through PCCharge Payment Server you will need to purchase and install their 5.9.1 update. Contact PCCharge Sales at (800) 725-9264 for more information.
